COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY
My name is Samantha Fitzgibbon. I work with adults who are in need of support with issues including anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, inner child work, personal growth.
I believe each client is unique and therefore my approach to each client is tailored to the presenting challenges and functioning at that time.
I work in a confidential, non-judgemental way.
As well as talk therapy I use other techniques with my clients when appropriate, such as artwork, bodywork, visualisation and guided meditation.
I have found that incorporating these different methods can encourage powerful change when words alone cannot express what needs to be expressed and it empowers clients to work towards finding the most authentic version of themselves.
As humans, we can often seek answers or cures from the outside world, but it is only when we look inward that true healing and growth occurs.
I provide a safe environment where clients feel like they are really being heard and their issues can be explored and worked through at their own pace.
I value the holistic development of each client and I strive for honesty and respect in my work.
My academic training includes a Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy. (For a detailed description of Integrative Psychotherapy visit, http://www.integrativetherapy.com/en/integrative-psychotherapy.php).
I am a pre-accredited associate of IAHIP (Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapists). As an Integrative psychotherapist, I have been trained across a broad range of therapeutic approaches, including Gestalt therapy, Person-Centred Therapy and Psychodynamic therapy.
My varied life experiences also influence my work. I have travelled to many parts of the world and I also have an MSc in Organisational Behaviour. I have volunteered with organisations such as Samaritans and Roots of Empathy.
I am a mother, a wife, a former hotel and events manager, a lover of natures extensive beauty, of yoga, meditation, tai chi, music and dancing. An enthusiast of many holistic therapies and an avid fan of learning new things and continuously self-developing.
